The work

Relief is personal. Your session should be too.

I do not run every body through the same routine. We start with what is real: where you hurt, how you move, what your week has demanded and what you want to feel different when you leave.

From there, I combine precise therapeutic work with enough ease for your system to actually receive it. Some sessions are focused and structural. Others are quiet, fluid and restorative. Most live somewhere in between.

01

Persistent tension + pain patterns

Focused work for the places that keep asking for attention—neck, shoulders, low back, hips and everything compensating around them.

02

Mobility + active recovery

Massage, stretching and movement-informed bodywork for athletes, performers, weekend warriors and people who simply want to move more freely.

03

Stress + nervous system overload

A slower, grounded approach for bodies stuck in high gear—designed to create space for rest without treating relaxation like an afterthought.

04

Pregnancy + changing seasons

Thoughtful, supported care shaped around your comfort, your current capacity and what your body needs today.

A wider toolkit

Technique follows the person—not the other way around.

Your session may draw from several methods. The goal is not to collect techniques; it is to use the right one at the right moment.

Beyond the table

Teaching people to hear themselves again.

My teaching lives where movement, breath, sound and body awareness meet.

Through UNWIND and other restorative experiences at Lovelock, I guide people away from forcing and toward noticing—the places they brace, rush, disconnect or hold their breath. It is practical nervous-system care for real life, not performance.

How I got here

Before bodywork, my life was music.

I spent two decades as a professional musician—late nights, long travel days and years of asking my body to keep up without ever really listening to it. Eventually, the rhythm caught up with me.

Massage gave me a way back into my own body. Training at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts gave me the tools to offer that doorway to other people. In 2021, Crystal and I opened Lovelock Healing Arts in my hometown of Pensacola: a place where hands-on care, movement, rest and community could live under one roof.

I still believe in rhythm. I just understand it differently now. The work is helping you find one your body can sustain.

Public features + conversations

The work has a story behind it.

These public features trace the honest turning point behind Dan's massage practice: a performing body pushed hard for years, a new way of listening, and a place built to help others do the same.

Good questions

Before you book

Still unsure? Call or text Lovelock at 213-474-7201.

What kind of massage should I book?

You do not need to diagnose your own body or choose a single technique. Book the session length that gives us enough room—90 minutes is the best first visit for most people—and we will shape the work around your goals, history and preferences.

How do I make sure I book with Dan?

Use the Book with Dan button, choose your appointment type, then select Dan as your practitioner in the Lovelock booking flow. Dan’s calendar is currently booking about four to five weeks ahead, so reserving early is recommended.

What if Dan is booked or I need an appointment sooner?

Text Lovelock at 213-474-7201 and ask whether Dan has a last-minute cancellation. If your body needs care sooner, you can also book with another phenomenal Lovelock therapist; the team covers a wide range of therapeutic and restorative modalities.

Is deep pressure always better?

No. Effective work is not a contest in how much pressure you can tolerate. I use the depth, pace and technique your body responds to best, and we keep communication open throughout the session.

Where are sessions held?

For now, appointments remain at Lovelock Healing Arts, 213 South Baylen Street. We are planning to move to 921 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive around the first week of November, but the exact date is not yet final. Please check the relocation notice above before your visit.

Do you teach classes too?

Yes. My teaching brings together restorative movement, breath, body awareness and sound. You can find current classes and special sessions through the Lovelock studio schedule.
